Some crafting retreats make you drive nearly that far from the check-in location.

You don’t. We offer a contactless check-in and check-out process. We will text a ‘smart lock’ access codes only valid for your party. It is completely secure powered by Yale locks and August.

First, your crafting materials and tools of course. You also want to bring the things you normal would for a few nights away from home like several changes of cloths, sleepware and toiletries. You also should bring a light jacket or sweater since your idea of comfortable many not agree with others in your group and everyone can self adjust. Bring along a pair of indoor shoes or slippers. All the floors are hickory hardwood or tile and can be a bit cool if you wear sandals. Bring an iPod, iPad phone or CDs for the sound system. We have streaming selections too, but bring your headphones in case you don’t like what others are playing. We have a BluRay and DVD player for movies, so bring them along. If you do any digital work, bring your laptop. Don’t forget power cords and adapters. Check with your group organizer if you have been assigned any other items to bring. Many groups treat meals in a “pot luck” style.

Have fun.

Check-in time on arrival day is 11:00 am, giving you time to travel to the retreat and have a productive first day of crafting.

Check-out time on departure day is 5:00 pm, giving you a full day of crafting before you have to say goodbye.

No. You already have a late check-out time of 5:00 pm.

We need time after your check out to do the cleaning and sanitizing process for the next group of crafters.

During the loading and unload you can use the stepping stone path you see in the photo tour. Alternatively, you can use our private elevator. It is just inside the garage and opens directly into the terrace level retreat. You are welcome to use the elevator for loading and unloading, but we ask that you use the exterior private entrance for all other times. If you have members in your group that require handicap access, let us know and we will make arrangements for you.

Click here for more details about the elevator.

When you leave, please ensure the following simple tasks are done:

  • Empty the refrigerator/freezer and dispose of all food items. Liquids poured down the drain (except oils – seal and place in trash) and leftover food in a trash bag.
  • Bagged trash placed garage and place in round trash cans. This includes the bathrooms/bedrooms too – small bags can be added to the kitchen trash bag.
  • Dishes cleaned and put away in corner cupboard/shelves OR washing in the dishwasher.
  • Cooking pots and pans cleaned and dried by hand and placed on shelves.
  • Remove ONLY used linens and place in a pile on the floor of the bedroom.
  • Leave towels in bathrooms, hanging on hooks/bars or on the shower floor.
  • Place any moved furniture back in its original location, including outdoor furniture.
  • Sweep floors with excess debris (broom & vacuum are in ‘Bear’ bedroom) and wipe up any spills.

The main room also has Fire TV with an Amazon Prime membership where you can stream any of the included selections. Unfortunately we cannot support pay-per-view at this time.

You are welcome to sign into Netflix or Hulu with your own account to watch the content you have from the Fire TV. Just remember to log out and clear any passwords before you leave.

We ask that you leave your pets at home when visiting Crafter Retreats.

Absolutely NO smoking or vaping inside or outside while on the property.

Your privacy is important to us. The Lodge is located on 11 beautiful acres in a rural area of Cherokee county and we are a ways off the road. There are farms near by where you can see horses, cows and goats. We usually don’t see neighbors except to wave across the fields or woods. Our home is on the main level of Lodge. The Crafter Retreat is located on the lower terrace level. It is a completely separate apartment with it’s own HVAC and private entrance. We are available to assist you if needs arise, but we will not interrupt you during your retreat time. Guests usually don’t hear us unless we drop something heavy in the kitchen. We may stop in once during the weekend to empty the trash and to see that everything is okay. We also have a lawn care service that may do their work outside one day during your retreat. (They usually are onsite for 30 minutes, start to finish.) This is your retreat time and we will respect your privacy.

We do not allow a check-out and check-in to happen on the same day. This allows plenty of time for our crews to clean and sanitize the retreat space.

All frequently touched surfaces are cleaned with sanitizer after every group. This includes: handles, doorknobs, faucets, light switches, counters, etc.

All towels and bedding are washed in hot water that’s at least 60oC/140oF.

We provide hand sanitizer in the bathrooms and kitchen. One of the bathrooms is right as you enter the retreat.

Check in and check out is contactless, however we are available if you need assistance.

You and the members of your group are also responsible for your safety, so if someone has symptoms, they should not attend.
